Join the Judicial Evaluation Committee
One of the most direct ways we can make our voices heard in the larger legal community and serve Washington’s citizens is to formally rate candidates for judicial elections and persons seeking appointment to the bench.
Committee participation typically involves monthly interviews of candidates/applicants, reviewing the candidate/applicant’s materials, and conducting reference checks. Interviews last approximately thirty minutes followed immediately by committee discussion for rating purposes. Interviews occur on weeknights or Saturday mornings, usually in sessions of three to four interviews, resulting in about a three hour time commitment per session. The committee rarely meets more than once per month for interviews.
Committee members agree to serve for at least one year and actively participate. If you are interested in joining the committee, please email the Chair at email@example.com. Five years of experience as a practicing attorney is encouraged, but not required.
